Miscellany Monday

* Hi, friends. I hope all of you are doing more than well. I realize that it is almost the middle of March and I've only posted a handful of times this year, but I need to be honest. My blog had kind of become a burden. That burden turned into me not caring and ultimately having zero desire to write at all. I guess that's what happens when I keep going missing from blogland. However, over the weekend I was catching up on a few blogs that I love, and they reminded me that my blog doesn't have to be a serious space where I write all of these profound thoughts. My blog is whatever I want it to be. For me, it's a space where I can get my thoughts out on "paper", document Gav's milestones, pregnancy #2 and life in general, and just connect with all of you lovely ladies. So, here I go again. Making an effort to write regularly. I promise I'll do better this time. :)

* I want to share the link to a Thirty-One party that my mother-in-law is hosting for her great-niece, Ashtyn. Two years ago, Ashtyn was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at the age of four and is currently being treated in New Orleans at Tulane Hospital. Ashtyn's mom, Jacque, is a Thirty-One consultant and any additional income will help with medical bills and is much appreciated. Also, my MIL is donating all hostessing gifts to St. Baldricks! If you are in the market for a Thirty-One bag, please consider purchasing by clicking this link, and then going to "My Parties" and selecting the one for Pam Christmas. I have a few of these bags and love them! Thanks in advance!

* For Valentine's Day, my family and I spent the day in Asheville, North Carolina. Keith needed to be there for work, so we decided to join him. We had a great day in the beautiful mountains, and spent our time at the Biltmore Estate eating lunching at Cedric's Tavern and exploring the grounds of the beautiful Biltmore! We arrived a little too late to tour the house, but did score some complimentary passes for our next visit.

* Last week, my husband and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary. Due to Keith's work schedule, we weren't able to spend the day together, or even go out to dinner that night, but you know what? That was okay. Keith works so hard and I know that he does so for Gav, Arabella, and me. And we appreciate it that man so much. We did get to Skype a few times during the day and that made my heart so happy. On Saturday, we spent the day together (with Gavin, too!) and it was extremely wonderful. Keith, I love you more and more each year, and I am so thankful for this life that we have together. Thanks for being an amazing husband and father. You're my mais!

* On February 20th, my little man got his first haircut! I know it's probably not a big deal for many of you, but my sweet little baby got a haircut. Meaning that he's growing up, and is not quite a little baby anymore. *sigh* We went to a cute little kid's salon and Gavin did great! He sat on my lap and carefully watched a very nice lady cut off his golden hair.

* Have you guys seen this? I'm not big on flash mobs, but I love the Big Bang Theory. :D

Well friends, that's all the miscellany I've got for today. I wish you all a wonderful Monday!

Just Another Miscellany Monday

~ Words cannot describe how happy I am that last week is over. It. Was. Crazy!!!! I'm ecstatic to report that I was able to get all of my schoolwork (a few discussion posts, 5 tests and a lab) completed and am now up to date on everything. Thank you God! Life is still busy, but the weight of being behind on everything is off of my shoulders...which of course means back to blogging. Yay! :)

~ Had I know that LSAC was going to email me the results of my fee waiver appeal, I wouldn't have stalked the mess out of my account. Unfortunately, my appeal was denied and I won't be getting any fee waivers. :( While it stinks, it's not the end of the world. Keith and I are in a pretty new, unique financial situation, and I can understand why they would deny me the waiver. Thankfully, it seems like things are looking up for us and we'll be a-okay paying for LSAT tidbits. Bring it on!!!

I know I haven't destroyed the LSAT (yet), but this was just too cute not to post.

~ Okay, does anyone watch The Mentalist? Keith and I have been catching up on older episodes and we are completely hooked. It is so cleverly written and we just love Patrick Jane! We've just seen the season 3 finale and cannot find season 4 (the current season) online anywhere...except the Canada iTunes store! Lol we've tried to purchase the first episode, but low and behold, we're not in Canada and the transaction won't go through. Does anyone know where we can find these episodes?

~ Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars recently released a song called "Safe and Sound" that will be on The Hunger Games soundtrack. It is absolutely beautiful, and in my opinion, the best that Taylor has sounded. But, there's a singer by the name of Savannah Berry who recently covered the song, and dear goodness she will take your breath away. This little girl is amazing and I can't wait to see her career take off.

Happy Monday!

TGI Monday?

* This weekend was absolutely nuts. Saturday was a planned cleaning day, and Keith and I were very productive. We cleaned every inch of our bathroom, our bedroom, and did around 10 loads of laundry. (Let's just say it's been awhile...) Overall, Saturday was a good day. Then Sunday came. Keith woke up feeling really sick and was in bed for most of the day. After a very awful vomiting session he began running a high fever. I have never felt so helpless! I took care of him the best that I could, and his fever broke during the night. Thank the Lord! I never thought I'd say this, but I am so glad that it's Monday.

* Is anyone excited about Glee this week? I know I am! I can't wait to see an old school Britney themed episode! Yay!

* Next week I have a paper due for my Criminology 220 class on a movie that features criminal behavior. I am really excited about this assignment and will be writing my paper on the movie Fracture. This is one of my favorites and I cannot wait to tackle this assignment. :o)

* Oh Garret Hartley. Even though you missed a 29 yard field goal in overtime, I still think you are great. Yes, the Saints lost, but if you wouldn't have made the field goal with 4 seconds left in regular playing time, we wouldn't have made it to OT anyway. I'm still a fan. And I'm still rooting for my New Orleans Saints. WHO DAT!

I hope you guys have a lovely Monday!

Getting to Know You Sunday #5

Getting to know YOU

1. If you could host a Reality TV show, which one would it be? Cake Boss!! I love this show and think it would be so fun to watch Buddy and his family in action! (Not to mention all of this awesome food I would hopefully get to try!)

2. Do you put your seatbelt on before or after you start the car? I put it on right after I start my car. The first thing that I do is lock my doors. Ladies this is a great habit to pick up!

3. Shave or hair removal cream? Definitely shave. I've tried hair removal cream before and it smelled weird, burned my legs, and didn't remove all of the hair.

4. What's your favorite feature in a house? Hmmm...I would have to say the front porch. Although Keith and I never use ours, I would love to get a swing and rocking chairs so that we could sit outside and just enjoy each other.

5. What is your favorite "Fall" scent? Pumpkin spice candles. Hands down!

6. What TV show are you looking forward to seeing most this Fall?? Chuck!!! Season premiere is September 20th and I can't wait!

7. Personal Shopper or Personal Chef? Neither?

8. What is the first word that comes to mind when you think of "Fall"? The first thing that came to mind is "crisp air". Here are my likes and dislikes about this wonderful season!

October Faves
Cool weather (sometimes)
Mellowcreme pumpkins (LOVE these)
Going to the fair
Candy candy candy
MLB PLAYOFFS
Pumpkin spice candles (like the one in my office.)
Leaves changing/falling (sometimes)

October Dislikes
The Halloween display at Walgreens (sooooo scary...)
Creepy people who take Halloween to a whole different level
Did I say Halloween?
