Just Call Me Grace

I would not consider myself a graceful person, but I am also not extremely clumsy. I'm somewhere smack dab in the middle where I tend to have random injuries. Last night was one of those nights, and I ended up falling down the stairs.

This is the fourth time it's happened in the past 2 years.

My explanation?

I am absolutely convinced that the carpeting on the stairs is extra slippery. (And I tend to walk/run fast down them.) I have never had a serious injury, but last night was the worst fall yet. :( I have a lovely "A League of Their Own" type bruise on my left leg, a bruise on my foot, and I'm pretty sure the right side of my back/ribs are bruised as well. Did I mention that I was holding my computer when I fell?

Needless to say I am feeling pretty sore today. Remember Carl's stair lift in the movie Up? Well, I'm halfway considering having one of those bad boys installed. Prayers are most definitely appreciated.

Has this ever happened to you?

I would rate myself with you, smack dab in the middle, but I do have my occasional mishap. My pinky toe is just about healed from catching it on a book shelf, (I think… It has been so long, I just cannot seem to remember). I mostly just bump into furniture, but I have fallen down stairs before. It was only about 4 stairs, but I was carrying my youngest son while he was sleeping. I caught my heel on the top step & down I went. My son didn’t get hurt (Thank the Lord), but I did a really good job on myself because of the way I fell, so my boy won’t get hurt. I forgot all about that. Ha Ha!!

I do hope that you feel better soon. I will pray for you & your husband, I just wish there was more that I could do….

God Bless!

Oh Lindsey! I hope you're ok! Let me tell you...I am the most accident prone person you will EVER meet. And the worst part? All of my little accidents turn into MAJOR ordeals. Let's start with something you can identify with: a fall down the stairs that was so bad, it caused my hips to shift out of place and I was in physical therapy for 3 months to realign my hips! A bad catch in a Thanksgiving Day football game left me with a broken finger that is now and forever will be slightly hyper extended. A clumsy fall left me with a bottle of Pom INSIDE my hand rupturing an artery and severing all the tendons and nerves in my hand...3 surgeries and 2 1/2 years later and I still don't have complete feeling in my left hand!

So YES these things have happened to me and I'm so sorry you're not feeling ok but at least you are ok. I'm praying for you girl!

Yep! I was carrying a laundry basket down stairs, heard a car start in the driveway and knew my young (at that time) daughter was outside playing. I instinctively looked up to verify where, exactly, she was. In my mind, there was only one step left on the flight of stairs. Apparently, there were two. You know how that messes you up!?! Either way--more or less steps than you were prepared for? I twisted my ankle badly. On the bright side, my daughter was no where near harm's way. On the downside, the starter-person of the car saw my graceful crash landing and admonished me that he never would have endangered my child. We all know I would have checked, regardless.

Anyway, I know you are hurting. Hope you feel better quickly!
