Twenty Eleven

via

Another year has come and gone, and once again I find myself asking "Where did the time go?" In the blink of an eye so many events took place, and it's really quite amazing once you slow down and reflect. 2010 was a year filled with many ups and downs, triumphs and failures. While I feel that I have grown in some ways, I have also taken a few steps back. At the end of 2009 I made a list of goals for 2010. I only accomplished a few of these goals.

However, this post is not meant to dwell on the past, but to focus on the upcoming year.

Goals for 2011

1. Becoming a better Christ follower. I want to dive into the Bible like never before this year, and be more like the wife in Proverbs 31. I want to actually get to know my Savior and have a stronger relationship with Him.

2. Meet my weight loss goal. I know that I say this every year, but this year has got to be different. I will be 25 years old in January, and I'm tired of always aspiring for my body to be better. It's "put up or shut up" time. I want to feel confident in my skin. I don't care what the scale says, I just want to be toned and healthy. When summertime rolls around I want to go frolic on the beach with Keith instead of dreading bathing suits.
3. Get our finances in order. In 2011 Keith and I plan on budgeting our money so that we can pay down our debt, build up our savings, and begin living the way God intended.

4. Score well on the LSAT/Get into law school. I begin hardcore studying for the LSAT next week (or as soon as my prep course materials arrive) and I am determine to put everything I have into this test. I am absolutely certain that becoming an attorney is the calling upon my life, and this test is the first step in getting there.

5. Start saving money for a trip to Italy! Ever since I can remember, I have always wanted to go to Italy. I have a love for that country that I cannot explain, and it is time for me to stop dreaming and start doing. If we start saving a little at a time, Keith and I will make it to Italy the summer before I (hopefully) start law school!

So, there you have it! My five main things that I want to happen/change in 2011. I don't know why, but I have a funny feeling about 2011...and I think it's going to be a.mazing!

Christmas Re-Cap

Christmas day was absolutely amazing.

Around 6:30am, my sweet husband woke me up. Apparently he had been awake since 4:00am, and was ready for me to join him. We went downstairs where I smelled cinnamon rolls in the oven, heard old fashioned Christmas music, and saw our sparkly Christmas tree. It was beautiful. Keith and I danced for a little bit, and then tried our best to waltz around the living room. Our dance steps were terrible, but oh was it fun swinging around the room!

Around 7:00am, we woke Lauren and Joe up and then headed downstairs. We prayed together, wished Jesus a very happy birthday, and then opened presents.

We spent the rest of the day visiting with Keith's Dad and Stepmom, brothers and their wives, and Mom and StepDad. Honestly, it was a good day. No, scratch that. It was a wonderful day. We had such a great time, and are incredibly blessed.

I hope you and yours enjoyed Christmas day, and felt the love of family, friends, and Christ.

Louisiana: Days 3 & 4

*This is a very late recap to part two of the Louisiana trip! Sorry!**

Friday morning we were feeling a bit sluggish thanks to all of the deliciousness we ate on Thanksgiving, so we slept in a little, and then headed over to my friend Kori's house to do homework. Kori and her mom cooked Red Beans and Rice, Chicken Alfredo, Cabbage Casserole, and salad for us...all for lunch! Talk about food coma part 2! They are amazing cooks and we thoroughly enjoyed it!

That night we had dinner plans with about 10 of my closest Louisiana friends and their spouses/bfs/gfs! :) It had been nearly 3 years since I'd seen some of them, and this dinner was waaaay overdue. Words cannot express how much these people mean to me, and I am so very grateful that they are in my life. Through thick and thin, we've stuck beside each other, and I am blessed beyond belief!

My Louisiana Loves

Cassie, Kori, Kim, me, and Hailey.

After dinner we headed over to Kori's and hung out just like old times. (Well, old times but as mature adults. Hehe...) We had so much fun and I can't wait until we meet again. :)

On Saturday, my cousin Justin got married. It was a beautiful wedding, and Keith and I had tons of fun!

Kori and I filmed the wedding!

Kori, Hailey, and me. I love these girls!

All in all, the trip to Louisiana was fabulous. It was incredible seeing all of my family and friends, and am hoping that Keith and I will take a trip there this summer! :)
