1,440 Hours In My Day

When the minutes seem like hours
and the hours seem like days
When a week goes by
you know it takes my breath away
All the minutes in the world
could never take your place
There's one thousand four hundred
forty hours in my day.
*Hanson*

Yesterday I watched one of the most emotional videos I have seen in a really long time. It was a 10 minute video montage of military family reunions, and it really got me thinking. When I went to Louisiana in May I missed Keith so. much. To the point where I would cry at night because my better half was missing...and that was only for one week. Some families go weeks, months, and even years without seeing their loved ones. Watching the video brought tears to my eyes and really made me realize how lucky I am to see my husband everyday.

I have always had a love and fascination for the military. When I see women/men in uniform it makes my heart dance. I am always so happy to be in their presence. Back in 2005 I actually signed up for the Air Force, but due to medical reasons it never happened. I know that everything happens for a reason and that God closed that door so that He could open another.

I am so thankful for the men and women who are serving our country today. You guys are amazing and I am so very proud of you.

Wow, what a sweet context for those lyrics! Makes me think of the song in a whole new light.

When I was in the Dallas airport in May, there was a soldier at the gate to Lafayette, and he was going home for two weeks to see his wife and young children. He was focused on putting batteries in some stuffed animals to surprise his children with, and it was the sweetest thing to watch. It made me realize that even though I'd had a really long two days, I could step back and be grateful for him and his service.

This video sure has been doing its rounds... I'm glad it makes people think though =) I'm assuming it was created by a Mormon... because the book of Moses isn't in my Holy Bible, that threw me off at the very end.

It's a very different life we live! I'm just glad some people recognize the sacrifices we have to make as families.

I LOVE that song by Hanson. :) And these videos are tearing me up. Makes my heart hurt and smile at the very same time.

I watched that video yesterday and I cried through the entire thing. I couldn't imagine being a military wife. I don't think I'm strong enough to do it.

my brother is a marine and my sister in law is always quick to remind me how long she has to go without seeing him when i have been away from my husband for mere days...so i know exactly what you mean! it really puts it into perspective!

oh wow. I love how sweet and strong each of their hugs are! And the way the kids wrap their little arms around their mommies and daddies like nothing else matters in the world! Thanks for sharing (and making me cry!) this morning!

Wow - I am so glad I didn't watch that during work. My make-up is ruined. What an amazing video! Thank you for sharing.

Oh my goodness, that made me cry too! Especially that little girl at the beginning. You shouldn't do this to me, Lindsey - I'm overly emotional as it is right now! But I'm glad you shared it.
