A Full Plate

I have been a sporadic blogger ever since little man entered this world. I've accepted that there just aren't enough hours in the day to accomplish everything on my to-do list, in addition to blogging. And that's okay. But I miss writing, and I miss you guys. Right now, Keith and I are in an extremely busy and exciting season and I'm just trying to juggle everything. My plate is beyond full and until I clear some things off, blogging will be on the back burner.

So what's on my plate?

Well...

* On August 6th the eviction process with our tenants finally ended and we regained possession of our property. Since then we've been busy emptying our house of trash. Here's a lovely picture of what used to be our dining and living room.

Yes, that is an aquarium and yes, the tenants did leave their fish. Awesome, right? Luckily we were able to hire Molly Maid and then had the carpet professionally cleaned. Everything looks much better.

* We are moving. Again. For the third time in one year. In 2 weeks!!! Back to our house we go, and we've got tons to pack. And we haven't started yet...

* This silly boy. He is quite the handful and I'm loving every minute. :)

He likes to roll himself up in his blanket.

* Have I mentioned that my final semester of my undergraduate career starts on Monday? I'm taking 3 classes...

* And I'm still editing part-time for my grandmother's videographry company.

Well, that's all folks. I'll try to write when I can, but I'll likely be neglecting my poor little blog until sometime in September after our move, and when I can catch my breath. I hope you all are have a truly wonderful day.

Until next time...

Five Months Old

Sleeping and Eating: Gavin has been so much fun this month! He still sleeps whenever he wants to, and his schedule hasn't changed much. A morning, midday, and evening nap and then asleep for the night by 9pm or 10pm. He typically sleeps through the night, but does occasionally wake up between 4am-6am for a nightly feeding. He is eating a consistent 5oz per feeding and once or twice a day I add rice cereal to his bottle. This month, we tried rice cereal, pears, and sweet potatoes, but I think it's a little early for him to be eating baby food. He made a mess with the pears but did much better with the sweet potatoes. We're going to try bananas this week...so we'll so how that goes! :)

Likes and Dislikes: Gavin loves Sophie the Giraffe and his Jumperoo! These two items keep him entertained all day. He jumps for a good hour and then eventually passes out in the Jumperoo...only to wake up and start jumping again. Lol I love watching him do this. He's also been arching back in the Boppy pillow to the point that he is upside down. He likes to sit in his Bumbo seat and watch me cook in the kitchen. He especially likes when I sing and dance while cooking and often laughs hysterically. :D He's recently found his toes and likes to eat them, while also taking off his socks and eating them, too.

Lately, he dislikes his car seat and whines a bit when he has to buckle in, but as soon as he has a few toys he calms down. He still loves You Are My Sunshine and I sing it to him a few times a day. He has noticed our cats (Torre and Abigail) and I think he likes them. He's always trying to "pet" them and they've done really well adjusting to him. He has been much more talkative this month and has been saying "oooooooo" tons. He still loves bath time and I think he's going to be quite the little fish.

Milestones: He is a little roly poly! He rolls all over the place! He is reaching for things easily now and likes to pull on my hair (OUCH!). He's also still doing his little Army crawl and I don't doubt that he will be crawling very soon.

Gavin,
You are the sweetest, most loving child and I am so proud to be your Mommy. You make me laugh and smile so much and I love that you are my little buddy! Daddy and I love you very much and are very happy that God gave us you. :)

Miscellany Monday

* Keith and I are in no hurry to have another baby, but when we do, (and if that sweet child is a girl) she will definitely wear this.  :)

Now if only he would let me name her Arielle... ;)

* Stress. We've all experienced it. I tend to stress out about a lot of things, but have learned that worry is a waste of time. However, I recently experienced a physical reaction to an extremely stressful situation. I can't get into the specifics yet, but it involves our tenants, an eviction, a destroyed trashed house, and another move (in 30 days!!!) for my family. Oy. My body has not handled this well, and I've been having an odd pounding in my chest, shortness of breath, and coughing spells that seem to choke me. This has been a pretty scary experience, but things are getting better. Everything with our house is working out, and I've been focusing on God and my prayer life, and a new peace is coming over me. Thank the Lord!

* See this boy? He makes my heart happy and makes every day day a good day.

* For the past 3 weeks, Keith and I have been drinking Body by Vi shakes. We both really like them and find that we have so much more energy and just overall feel better. We drink a shake for breakfast and sometimes we also drink one for lunch. We've adjusted our eating habits and have been eating less junk and more veggies. I weighed myself yesterday and I am happy to report that I have lost 3" and 5lbs!!!! It's not much, but it's something. And it's only been 3 weeks! Not to mention, I haven't worked out at all (shame, shame). I'm still 10lbs. away from my pre-pregnancy weight, but I am definitely on the right track and am more motivated than ever by these results. Stay tuned for (hopefully) more good news. :) (If you want more information on Body by Vi, click here)

* And since there are so many things coming up on our calendar, I've decided to end Miscellany Monday with a few countdowns.

My final semester begins - 14 days

Family Cabin Trip - 25 days

Gavin's first time on an airplane - 47 days

My last day of undergrad!!! - 131 days

Christmas :) - 141 days
