turtle update

I'm sad to report that one of our new turtles, Shelby, has passed away. She left us on Friday while Keith and I were at work. She was sick from the beginning, but we thought she was getting better. She was only in our lives for a few days, but she was a very sweet turtle. We buried her in Keith's backyard and had a small funeral service.

R.I.P Shelby.

Behold the turtle. He makes progress only when he sticks his neck out. -- James Bryant Conant

This past weekend Keith and I officially welcomed four turtles into our lives. Their names are Solomon, Shelby, Elijah, and Aragorn. Q gave us Solomon, and we bought the other three at the Flea Market. I am so excited about having these little guys! They each have their own personality and we are having so much fun with them.

Oh the randomness...

  • I don't like to drink coffee, but I love to eat chocolate covered coffee beans.
  • I toured The House That Ruth Built during the final season!
  • I have a love for Italy that I cannot explain.
  • Children make my heart melt.
  • During my Senior year I had a little nose ring.
  • I'm afraid of heights (but I want to go skydiving) and roaches.
  • I'm having ESPN withdrawals. (No cable at my roommate's condo.)
  • Chuck (Mondays on NBC) is the best TV show, ever.
  • Audrey Hepburn is my favorite actress and one of my favorite people. She was and still is absolutely exquisite and admire the work she did with UNICEF.
  • Shrimp and Crawfish are the only seafood I'll eat.
  • Sometimes I have iPod dance parties in my room. =)
  • I brush my hair with the dinglehopper that I got at The Little Mermaid Broadway Show.
  • Keith makes me smile in a way that I've never smiled before. He's my true love and I am so very thankful that God has blessed me with him. I can't help but sing "So this is love, mmmm mm mmm mmmm, so this is love...." from Cinderella.
  • I sponsor two children through Compassion International. Their names are Wilkemberg and Michael. Whenever I get mail from these two precious boys my heart jumps!
  • Taylor Swift is my favorite. (Sooo excited about going see her in concert April 30th.)
  • I love pickles.
  • I'm an activist for the Not For Sale Campaign. NFS is a campaign to bring awareness to/fight human trafficking. It really bothers me that most people think slavery ended a long time ago, but it didn't. It is more alive today than it ever was. I am very passionate about this organization and I dream of the day where slavery is no long an issue. (http://www.notforsalecampaign.org/is the national website.)
  • Those little peach gummy candies are my favorite.
  • I have an obsession with the song MMMbop, and Hanson for that matter.

www.CharlestonVideographer.com

Hi guys. I decided to write this blog entry so that everyone would know a little about my Grandmother's videography business that I'm trying to start here in South Carolina.

A Want It Videoed Production was formed in 1984 by my Me-Maw, Rita Hebert. We specialize in weddings and offer a wide range of film packages. We also offer photo montages, Love Story films, Photo Shoot coverage, Rehearsal coverage, an iPod video files. Please see the website for more information. www.CharlestonVideographer.com

Ever since I was twelve years old I've been involved in this business. I started out as a little helper that carried the equipment and danced at receptions. Needless to say a lot more has been added to my responsibilities. =) I've been filming weddings for about 10 years now, and in 2008 I began editing. I truly love the whole behind-the-scene wedding process. To be able to be apart of someone's wedding day is truly a privilege that I enjoy very much. And that's why I want to start filming weddings here in SC.

In February Keith and I attended a Bridal Show in Columbia, and AWIVP has decided to extend the Bridal Show special! The first three brides to book will receive 15% off of their wedding package! (Between $200 and $400 in savings) If you are interested, please contact me at lindsey.perrin@gmail.com for more details. You can also email me if you are interested in receiving a demo.

Hello, South Carolina

If someone would have told me that in 2009 I would be living in South Carolina, madly in love with my soul mate, and pursuing a degree in Education, I would have thought they were completely nuts. But they would have been right. God's plan for my life was completely different than what I had in mind. I wanted to move to New York City to pursue a degree in Sports Broadcasting and never get married. Obviously, that wasn't the path I was suppose to take. So, here I am in Charleston, South Carolina. I've been here for about three months now and I truly feel that I'm exactly where I'm suppose to be. The Lord has blessed my move here in so many ways and I am so grateful for His grace. I get homesick sometimes but He is helping me with that, too. During one of my homesick spells I made a list of the Pros and Cons about moving here.

Pros
1. Seeing Keith everyday!
2. Volunteering at Northwood Student Ministry
3. The amazing people that I've met
4. Being a live-in tourist in a beautiful city
5. Did I say seeing Keith?

Cons
1. Matt and Micah are not here =(
2. Crawfish, boudin, and beignets are non-existent
3. The food is bland
4. I miss my VOA friends
5. No Isabella's/Mandeville Bake Shop

After reviewing my list, I realized that the majority of the Cons were about food! Lol that's a true Southerner right there! A part of me will always miss Louisiana, but my goodness that is a great place to go home to. I took advantage of living there so very much but I am proud that my roots are from there.

On a happier note, I will be moving into a one bedroom apartment on May 1st! For the past three months I've been living in West Ashley in my roommate's condo, but after some serious praying I decided that moving to the North Charleston area was the best thing for me to do. I am constantly over there (Church or at Keith's house) and the drive back and forth just became too much. I'm really excited about this and I can't wait to move (again)!
